Reunion Looks That Hurt My Eyes



For my final blog post, I will be diving into the fashion choices at the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 2 reunion. When this reunion aired in January 2022, it was widely criticized, with some calling it the worst-dressed Housewives reunion in history. Notably, Mary Cosby did not attend the reunion, leaving us with six looks to evaluate.​

(I don’t really like any of the outfits, so instead of ranking them worst to best, I’m ranking them worst to least bad.) 


 

6. Worst overall: Merideth Marks

The blue pantsuit with feathers just did not work, and I don’t think it ever will. The mesh front made it even messier, and overall, it looked more like a costume than something for a reunion. Nothing about this outfit was flattering. I do like her hairstyle so at least there's that. 




5. Also Bad: Jen Shah

Jen showed up in a purple velvet gown with GIANT feathered shoulders, and it was just odd. The only reason she was ranked above Merideth for this was because I like the purple, that's it. I don’t remember 2022 fashion being known for feathers, but maybe that's just me.



4. Still Not Good: Lisa Barlow

Lisa’s metallic purple dress could have been fun, but it ended up looking really cheap. The shine of the fabric made it look plasticky. I feel like Lisa is normally pretty good with her fashion choices so this was disappointing. 




3. Wouldn't Say Good, But Not Bad: Heather Gay

I don't absolutely hate this look but it too plain. It looks like something you’d see at a formal event or something, not a Housewives reunion. Her hair is fine. Wish she gave us more. 




2. Almost There: Jennie Nguyen

Jennie’s look was okay, but the dress had way too much going on. Between the beading and the different textures, it just didn’t come together cleanly. It wasn’t the worst, but it wasn’t flattering either. She looks uncomfortable in it.



1. The Least Worst Dressed: Whitney Rose

I hate to say that this is my favorite look out of all of them, but it is. I like the green and the shoulder thing is fun. I would have opted out of the one sleeve if it were me. I like her hair and earrings, so she got bonus points for that. 



Overall, I would agree with the reviews that this is the worst set of outfits there has been on a Housewives reunion.

    I've never watched the Real Housewives series before, so I don't know who any of these ladies are or what their usual styles are like. However, I have to say that their dress choices are very out there for this reunion haha. I think that my favorite dress would be Heather's blue dress. I think it's the most classy and elegant out of the group!

    I'm not a fashion person and I don't usually rate people based on their looks, but good lord that #6 is atrocious. What was she thinking?!

Season 2: Episode 6

  Episode 6: Sex, Lies, and Sister Wives In honor of the Oscars happening this past Sunday, I am going to be giving out awards for this week's episode of Salt Lake. The Most Delusional Quote: Duy, Jennie's Husband 🏆 "Why if we get a sister wife?" The topic that got the most screen time from this week's episode was Jennie and her husband Duy's disagreement on having more kids. Jennie is completely against the idea and Duy's solution was to suggest to her that they get a surrogate or a sister wife (Yes, he suggested they become polygamists). Jennie honestly kept her composure pretty well when Duy brought this up considering the fact her husband of 10+ years just suggested bringing another woman into their marriage so she could give him more children. To sum up the rest of the conversation, Jennie told him "No. Absolutely not." and walked away. This is kind of a crazy storyline for someone new to the show this season and I'm hoping for a Duy ap...
