Season 2: Episode 5

Episode 5: Gin and Bear It

This whole episode just feels like damage control from the past few episodes. There are some important events that happen but overall, a pretty tame.

The fallout from casino night is carried on as Lisa continues to try and clear her name after being accused of sabotaging Angie's event. Whitney is still not buying that Lisa was not involved. However, in a surprising turn, Lisa and Whitney meet up over a meal and agree to start fresh, move forward, and build their friendship (I don't think this truce will last very long).

Meanwhile, Jen Shah meets with Merideth's son Brooks to finally apologize for her shady behavior on Twitter. After months of denying and deflecting, she acknowledges that liking tweets mocking his sexuality could actually be harmful to his character. Brooks didn't seem fully convinced with her apology and honestly, neither would I. At this point, only time will tell of Jen is going to change her behavior moving forward (probably not).

Next, something actually pretty exciting happens in this episode. We get to see our first "Guy's Night" of the season! These parts are always some of my favorites because I love to see the husbands interact with each other in such an opposite way from how their wives interact. Coach Shah, Seth, John, and Justin meet up for drinks and talk about their marriages and the importance of supporting their wives through all their madness. The Salt Lake husbands are my favorite after New Jersey, they all just seem so nice (especially Coach Shah which is so surprising because how can he stay married to Jen, I don’t understand).

The rest of the episode is kind of irrelevant but here are some more things that happened if you are interested:

  • Whitney and Jennie get lunch together and discuss Lisa
  • Heather starts to prepare her oldest daughter for college
  • Mary baked Whitney some cookies
